I just started watching Euphoria – I know, I know, very late to the party – and I’m in awe of the beauty looks that every character is wearing. There is more creativity with things like glitter, embellishments, and bright colors on the eyes. And although it's precisely done, it looks like they are just having fun with it.
So, as a result of that, I felt inspired to go wild with make-up myself this summer. I adore make-up and have a lot of make-up products in my stash, but I always fall into the same routine. No shade to myself though, because it looks hella fine after practicing the same look for years. But as I said before, the time has come to try new and cool trends. Here are 5 beauty trends that I see coming for the summer of 2023 and will be trying myself ;).
1 The “no mascara” look
The no-make-up-make-up look is already trending for quite some time. It focuses on dewy and clear skin with a light coverage of makeup for that healthy glow without looking like you’ve got makeup on. The mascara is what usually gives away that you’re wearing wake-up. So instead of wearing mascara, you’ll just curl your eyelashes for a more natural and bare minimum look. Plus, who wants to wear mascara when you’re sweating and hot anyways?
2 Tooth gems
This is the first one out of the five trends I’ve already tried and I freaking love it. I feel like a new personality is unlocked and she is way cooler than I am. The placement is painless, and the gem will last 1 month up to a year. I had the gem placed on my third tooth from the center so that’s mostly visible when I smile.
3 Sci-fi lips
As seen on the Botter SS23 runway. Sci-fi movies are not my cup of tea. However, I adore metallic and chrome. It gives you a mysterious and edgy look. Sounds too futuristic for you? Try lip gloss instead of lipstick.
4 Blue eyes
We are moving away from warmer tones. Fewer bronzes and more cool tones like taupe, grey, and my favorite blue. I immediately knew this was going to be a trend this year when Hailey Bieber gave us a great example of how to wear blue on your eyes in 2022. She posted a TikTok with blue eyeliner on her lower lash line and went viral.
