How to prep the perfect dinner party at home

Christmas is around the corner and that is the perfect time to sit down with your friends, family, or loved ones and celebrate each other with a nice cozy dinner. It can however feel quite overwhelming to give a dinner for many people if you have never done that before.

How do you set the table? How do you make the house feel cozy? How do I make sure that everybody is having a nice time? All reasonable questions we would love to help you with.

First things first. Calm down, these people are your friends and are already happy and grateful that you are willing to host a dinner this year. Try to remember that. However, we understand that you would like to make it a night they won’t forget.

At this time of the year, it gets dark outside very quickly. A great way to make your home feel festive and cozy are warm lights, candles, and, Christmas lights. To help with the decor it is also a great idea to pick a theme that you can hold on to – take a look on Pinterest for inspiration. For a table setting, it works perfectly to decorate with a cute tablecloth and varying heights decor. You could use different vases or foam blocks to create pretty flower arrangements, some candles, and other decorations that match your theme. Another great tip is to stack your plates and napkins for a luxury feeling. Make sure to set the table a few hours before the guest arrive to lower your stress level.

Then for the dinner. Keep your kitchen as clean as possible and start prepping your food as early as you can so that you don’t have to stay in the kitchen for too long once your guest arrives. Also, don’t be afraid to ask your friends for help. A dinner party is about bonding and laughter so involve each other in the process. See it this way, remember how much fun it is to get ready with your friends before you hit the club? Exactly.

Last but not least, don’t forget to put an apron on because we would hate to see your party outfit get ruined. Play some music and voila.
