We love fashion at La Tribeau so we thought it would be fun to start a monthly column on the coolest fashion trends we spot on the street, Instagram, or TikTok. We are kicking off with the shoe trend that we did not see coming.
As we are entering 2023, the 2000s still have a chokehold on the fashion scene. If you thought we were already done with Y2K trends like Mini-skirts, low-rise jeans, baby tees, and rhinestones. Think again. This ‘ugly’ shoe is the latest obsession.
One I didn’t see coming if I may say. For as long as I can remember I didn’t like to wear these kinds of shoes at all. They were not a fashionable item but something my mom used to make me wear because she was afraid that I would get cold feet or slip on the snowy roads. Fast forward, this woman was onto something – probably not but I’d like to think she can predict trends.
We are talking about snow boots and Moon Boots in particular. First spotted at the feet of Scandinavian fashion lovers during fashion month and now slowly entering the mainstream. I must admit, it is a love ‘em or hate ‘em kind of situation but girls are rocking this shoe trend. Luckily, we have the freedom to choose one’s own fashion style.
Pair them with slouchy trousers, high socks, and big silhouettes for a casual but fashionable look. Someone who has totally mastered this style is Elynne Keizer.
